Business Goal
This project is unique from my previous work because the FoodStory Market platform already has an existing demand with a group of FoodStory Owner clients. To kick things off, I conducted in-depth research to gain a better understanding of this client base. I began by analyzing relevant data using SQL and R, and then I sent out surveys to the most promising potential customers.
It appears that the majority of our clients are medium-sized enterprises, often led directly by their owners. These clients tend to prioritize convenience, a diverse range of products, and favorable payment terms when selecting food suppliers. Our clients' primary pain points revolved around the need to personally restock their inventories, which often required them to travel far from their stores to find specific ingredients. Additionally, some suppliers didn't provide favorable payment terms, mainly because they lacked a reliable tool for credit scoring. These circumstances prompted our initial business statement ...
FoodStory Market is a web-based platform designed to assist restaurant owners and managers in restocking their inventories efficiently through a user-friendly repurchasing tool and convenient delivery service.
Opportunity
After identifying our potential clients, I conducted user interviews to gain deeper insights into how individuals manage their inventory and to map out a user journey. Additionally, I distributed a customer success survey to our clients to better understand their use of our inventory management feature. Upon completing our studies, we identified several key product scopes and priorities. The primary focus revolves around two major products: a web-based purchasing application and an order management system for suppliers.
Phase 1: Customer Semi-Automated Repurchasing System and Supplier Order Management System
Phase 2: Customer Marketplace
Phase 3: Payment Gateway
Information Architecture
Given the remarkable growth in the e-commerce platform sector in Thailand, I opted for a widely used e-commerce web structure and navigation. I'm confident that this approach will help reduce the learning curve for new users.
Final User Interface
Once all essential processes were identified and outlined, I crafted a prototype using Sketch and Figma. This prototype was then presented through Invision to facilitate usability testing and secure management approval.
Training & Implementation
In a bid to ensure top-notch usability for our end-users, I made the decision to embrace a new usability testing tool called Maze Design. This tool enables participants to test a prototype while tracking all their interactions, ultimately generating a comprehensive report. Key performance indicators for the product include success rates and average task duration.
We kickstarted an inventory workshop, where we invited potential customers to get acquainted with our inventory management feature and discover the product's benefits. During the workshop, we encouraged participants to join our LINE channel for direct ad updates and promotions.
